White Mountain Classic 30K:  Jackson Village, NH, Sat Jan 24, 2015
The White Mountain Classic 30K is part of the New England Marathon Series, the NENSA Zak Cup & Club Series, and the prestigious NENSA 1-Day Club Championships! This is a classic technique marathon utilizing the unique trail systems in and around Jackson Village. All proceeds will benefit the Mt. Washington Valley Junior Nordic Program.

Geschmossel 15km XC Ski Race at Bretton Woods:
The 42nd Geschmossel Classic Ski Race has been postponed due to weather. It was scheduled for January 19th. The organizers hope to have a new rescheduled date soon.
Originally staged during the winter of 1972-73, the Geschmossel is one of New England’s oldest citizens’ races. The race originated as a 6-kilometer fun race, and was groomed with a homemade track sled that was pulled by a rope from a grooming machine. Today this 15 km classical style Nordic ski race is part of the ZAK Cup Series and takes place on the Ammonoosuc trail network at the Bretton Woods Nordic Center, and has grown to attract high-level skiers including members of the United States Ski Team.

New Hampshire Sanctioned Snow Sculpting Competition: Friday, February 27th through Sunday March 1st
This year there will be 10 teams stationed at the Jackson Village Park area and two teams stationed at Nestlenook Farm. This event attracts a wide variety of sculptors, both amateur and professional. In fact, many of the Competing Teams will be using this weekend as a practice run for Lake Geneva, WI and the Nationals.

Ski & Shoe to the Clouds: Sunday March 1, 2015
Skier mass start at 10:00 am.  /  Snowshoe mass start 10:10 am.
North America’s Toughest 10k is waiting. Skiers and Snowshoers compete for the chance to tackle Mt. Washington!  Beginning on the trail system at Great Glen Trails, Ski & Shoe to the Clouds finishes with a 6 kilometer climb up the Mt. Washington Auto Road—a climb of more than 2200 vertical feet.

March Maple Madness: Saturday March 21st, 2015
Its the season of maple, you can almost smell the maple in the air as the sugarhouses cook down the sap from the trees for the season. Embarking on a self-guided inn-to-inn tour, ticket holders will sample tasty delights both savory and sweet. Recipes sampled on the tour can be found in a keepsake booklet included in the ticket price ($20).

Wildquack Duck River Festival: Sunday May 24, 2015
26th Racing of the Ducks!  Come see Jackson’s wild and zany event that has been a favorite for 26 years. Families, friends, writers, photographers… You really need to see this one for yourself. Watching more than 3,500 yellow rubber ducks make their way down the Wildcat River to the finish line will excite the child in all of you.  Start gathering at 8 AM when ticket sales and Duck Stuff are open for business.

Herb, Food and Beer Tour: Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st, 2015
Embarking on a self-guided inn-to-inn tour, ticket holders will savor the flavors of spring in the White Mountains. Includes tastings, recipes and tours at ten White Mountain inns, visits to breweries, a chocolate-maker, an organic market and family-owned farms. Each inn presents an in-depth look at a popular culinary herb and offers delicious samples of an herb-inspired recipe. You’ll take home new inspiration for your own herb garden, new recipes, a year of culinary ideas, and a full stomach!
